How Can Surveys Boost Staff Retention?
Companies, which implement employee experience measurement programs, tend to have a much higher employee retention rate.
Employee surveys provide employees with the opportunity to express their thoughts, opinions as well as provide feedback on their experience within a company. This efficient means of obtaining valuable information enables managers to adjust their priorities according to the employees’ needs and to create an environment that is favourable to the development of both the staff and the company.
To this end, the author reveals that employees satisfied with their positions and roles are more likely to be productive. Happy employees also tend to work harder and get more accomplished. This satisfaction would also be one of the reasons of an increase in company staff retention rates.
According to Joe Pfender, the following elements should be taken into account when implementing an employee experience measurement program:
- Employee happiness: asking employees how happy they are.
- Career goals: asking employees the extent to which their work is in line with their long-term career goals.
- Employee appreciation: making sure employees feel valued.
- Employee plans: asking employees what their plans are for the company.
In addition to the above-mentioned elements, which we adhere to as a marketing research firm, we also recommend taking into account the following elements: relationships with colleagues, communication, autonomy and salary.
